I have known Bill for over 30 years.We were governors at Earnshaw Bridge and Northbrook Schools. Since 2011 when Iwas first elected to the council Bill and I were elected to represent Earnshaw Bridge Ward.

His knowledge of planning was always impressive.

The last time I chatted to Bill we talked about the next election and how he was keen  to be reelected and therefore able to see the Town Deal to fruition.

As Mayor I shall be attending his funeral but this is one Mayoral event I wish I wasn’t attending. So sad and so unexpected.

He will be very much missed.
